Sometimes when I open up that Holy Book,
The Lord’s lessons seem so hard
Somehow I must die to self and live for Him
Give up all that I have for His new start

The Holy Spirit lives inside me

Sometimes when I fall down on my knees to pray
A river of tears flows from my eyes
I’m brought face to face with all of my sin today
I call on His blood and start to cry

How can I call on the Lord if I won’t let Him call on me
If I only give one hour one day a week

I must look past the man in the mirror
To that cross on Calvary

Help me love you half as much as you love me
Show me all of Your holiness
Lock me in chains of righteousness
Only in Your chains can I be free…

I pray every day for another Pentecost
To light up my life with Holy fire
So I might preach boldly no matter what the cost
Make the souls of the unsaved my only desire
